Requirements

1. Any foreign visitor wishing to enter the Republic
of Korea should have a valid passport and a visa.
2. Visitors for sightseeing or transit with confirmed
outbound tickets may stay in Korea up to 30 days
without visas, except the followings :
Persons who have no nationality
Citizens from countries where do not have diplomatic
relations with Korea.
Special visa exemptions exist between Korea and
the countries listed below,
provided their citizens do not participate in remunerative
activities while visiting Korea. |

Visa

Application for Visas
1. Visitors who plan to stay in Korea for longer
than 90 days must obtain visas before entering Korea.
2. Nationals of those countries that have visa waiver
agreement with Korea can enter without visas, on
the condition that they should not engage in remunerative
activities during their stay in Korea.
- Canadians can also enter the Republic of Korea
without visas for a stay of up to six months.
3. Visa application should be made at Korean Embassies
or Consulates abroad.
4. It is required for the visa applicants to submit
passport, application forms, a recent passport-style
color photograph, and such other documents as determined
by the status of stay.
5. Visa fees are as follows :
a. Single entry visa for a stay of no more than
90 days : USD30
b. Single entry visa for a stay of more than 90
days : USD50
c. Multiple entry visa : USD80

Certificate
for Confirmation of Visa Issuance |
1. Overview: Foreign
technical trainees or Chinese who wish to visit
relatives in Korea should get the permission from
the Minister of Justice before being issued a visa.
For easy and quick procedure of that permission
system, we have introduced a "certificate for
confirmation of visa issuance".

Alien
Registration |
If you want to change
your short-term visa (up to 90 days) to special
long-term visa, you have to apply for alien registration
at a local immigration office within 90 days of
arrival. The alien registration procedure applies
to foreigners wishing to change their visa type,
as well as those who wish to extend their period
of stay beyond 90 days.
Any change in the Alien Registration Certificate
must be reported to the Immigration
Office within 14 days. When you move, you should
report to the new district office
within 14 days after move in.
