Bongpyeong, Pyeongchang-gun is the setting for the
famous Korean novel When Bloom the Buckwheat Flowers,
as well as the birthplace of its author, Lee Hyo
Seok, a prominent figure in modern Korean literature.
Mui Elementary Sccchool in Bongpyeong was closed
because there were not enough students at the school.
Recently, renowned painters, calligraphers, sculptors
and other artists have gathered at Mui Elementary
School and exhibited more than 50 of their works.
The playground has become an outdoor sculpture park
featuring large installations. At Mui Art Hall,
visitors can get a closer look at how artists create
their works and try their hand at creating their
own. |
