novel titled When Bloom the Buckwheat Flowers. Every
year around late August, Bongpyeong is all abuzz
and aflutter, two features typical of traditional
Korean local markets. Participants in the Hyoseok
Cultural Festival are able to come in contact with
nature itself as When the Buckwheat Blossoms, one
of the most famous Korean short novels, comes alive.
